Welcome / Fàilte!

Community Councils are made up of volunteers who have an interest in their community. They are non party political and are a way of bridging the gap between local authorities and local communities.

Kilwinning Community Council was constituted in 1975 and works to represent the views of the community on both local and national issues. Membership is eligible to any local resident registered in Kilwinning. Its work is supported by North Ayrshire Council. Elections to the Community Council take place on a regular basis and, for casual vacancies members can be co-opted.

Meetings are on the third Thursday of the month (except on some school holidays) at 7pm in Kilwinning Academy (Dalry road).

Anyone interested in joining the Community Council will be made most welcome, whether this is as a visitor observing the meeting, raising an issue of concern, or as a prospective Community Councillor.
