Woodside path improvement

This path runs from Dalry road to Mountcastle wynd / Nursery drive and a part of it has not been maintained for years, despite being heavily used by people living in the wider area. It’s a shortcut to access the town centre, but also Kilwinning Academy for a lot of pupils, dog walkers going to McGavin park and cyclists. The improvement of the path had been on our agenda since 2010 but despite many searches, we had been unable to establish ownership.

We have finally managed to secure a grant of £500 from North Ayrshire Council thanks to the Community Outdoor Access Grant Scheme. The work is undergoing and you can see the work done already on the before / after photos below (click on them to enlarge).

We hope the clearing of the overgrown vegetation and a regular maintenance there after, will help to keep the path safer and easier to use.

We’ve made the news this week in the Irvine Times and Irvine Herald. If the link to the article doesn’t work, you can read it here.
