Consultation on Policy for Community benefits from wind turbines

North Ayrshire Council has developed a Draft Policy for Community benefits from wind turbines (PDF, 184kb) based on a review of existing good practice in other Scottish Local Authorities.

They are seeking the views of wind turbine developers, individuals and organisations, including community councils, who may have an interest in community benefit from wind turbines.

Community benefits are where a wind developer makes a voluntary financial contribution toward community based projects. The types of project funded through community benefits are not exhaustive but could include job creation and training, renewable energy projects, energy efficiency and/or improved community facilities.

More information here on the North Ayrshire Council Website.

You can complete and return their questionnaire (Word, 35kb).

The consultation period runs from the 17 November 2015 to the 15 January 2016.
